Each year, Americans celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday on the fourth Thursday of November. The holiday is a great time to reflect back on all the wonderful gifts we have been given in our lives. Our family and friends come together. Many people live far away and travel long distances by car, train, or plane to be with their loved ones. Traditional foods are a large part of the Thanksgiving celebration. Our family has Turkey, dressing, ambrosia salad, and everyones favorite, the yams. And of course don’t forget the pies. Popular pie flavors are pumpkin and pecan. Many generous folks use Thanksgiving as an opportunity to help the less fortunate. Some people volunteer to serve food at homeless shelters on Thanksgiving Day and others donate to shelters or participate in canned food drives. Whatever you and your family does, please be safe and have fun making these traditions!
